the last post was supposed to be 430 3x1 not 330 3x1
highlight from monday 435 x1 pr. tried 440 but only got half way. The large amount of very heavy traing is taking it's toll especially on my shoulders. Does any body else get this problem and what do you guys do. I am only 15 lb away from my goal and would hate for sore shoulder joints to ruin it. thanks chris pickering |

maybe calm down on doing PR's every workout. maybe go down into the low to mid 3's and do a bunch of reps there? thats just my opinion take it for what
its worth

finally hit 440x1 to a one board for bench press. iam happy but i am gonna take a couple days off and move up to three boards. I think the shoulder pain i am
getting is due to the very heavy weight and possible damage done by poor weight throw technique, if you can picture pulling your arm and shoulder back like
starting a lawn mower but with a 35 lb weight spinning very fast iam sure you can imagine what that can do to your shoulders. the discomfrt is not there when i
bench to a 3 or a 2 board but only to a 1 or no board. I am also gonna start doing more shoulder pre-hab like Al showed me. i have only been doing it right
before i lift but i am gonna start doing it in the mornings when i wake up.
I have set some new goals for this summer with the strongman competitions and and track meets ( possibly the summer universiade in serbia) i would like to hit. bench press- 475x1 to a 2 board 350x3 closegrip 350x1 incline closegrip box squat- 700x1 to a 20 inch box hang highpull 315x3 clean pull from knee 500x3 ( still being explosive) power clean 300x1 (my technique needs alot of work and what is holding me back) jerk 320x1 Chris |

the guy i live next door to in rez woke me up at 6am this morning so i went to the gym and tried to do 3board bench press
455x1 465x1 475x1 480x1 i am extremely happy with this result. my system of working up to a heavier weight then decreasing the number of boards once the heavier weight is achieved |

I took friday , saturday, and sunday off of doing any chest work so I felt pretty good today
3 board benchpress 480x1 485x1 490x1 I am of the chain happy i am ten pounds away from 500lb. i think in the next two weeks i will be able to press it so I will video tape and post the video when i hit it. I am also going to try and use board training for incline bench. It has worked for flat so I might as well give it a try for incline. I used three boards today and went to my max 1rm to set a base line that i can train up from. 330x1 335x1 340x1 345x1 350xf I still have to design a program for 3board incline bench but 345 seems like a good start. if anyone else has any tips or suggestions for incline it would be awsome to hear. thanks chris pickering |

How long is your pause on the board when you're pressing? Or do you pause at all? Different people say different things about doing board presses and what
one should be doing.

On the flat bench the pause is for about a half second or so i am not bouncing. on the incline though i am bouncing it i think the incline movement and the
explosive nature is closer to shotput. I know i will catch hell from the power lifter guys on here but it's cool. It is nice to hear what other guys know
so you can add it to your knowledge and fix any dumb mistakes. I will go and bench 460 or so tonight and tape it so you guys can give me some advice

i stoped doing box squats a few weeks ago because i hit my 650lb goal but i noticed that my jumping ability went back down so i am going to start box squating
again, hit 650 again and maintain that wait
