Both Jamie and Matt are correct.
The weigh-in on the night prior to the competition is provided for athletes to have sufficient time to get some more pounds back on (12-14 hrs) before the comp actually starts. If guys have leaned themselves out (never had that problem....it's a bastard for me to get over 230!!!!) then they can pig out that evening/morning to put some of the insulation back on.

As for the pound or two over, as Jamie stated, I'll permit it one pound over = 232lbs, just for the possiblity of there being being some discrepancy with the weight scale.

If you are infact over by a few pounds, than yeah, you'll have the opportunity to compete, again, only as a guest. This keeps things fair and consistant for all the athletes.

Hey John,
Excellent question....I've got a hundred things on the go right now and haven't had a lot of time tp update you guys so PLEASE ASK, in case I forget.

The log will be a Progressive Log Medley:
8" log - 220lbs
10" log - 245lbs
10" log - 270lbs
12" log -295lbs

No grip aids allowed except chalk. (I don't care if you use your belt to get the log to your chest, I'm only interested in how much you can press overhead, not what you can clean!) Elbow wraps are allowed but you are not allowed to WRAP your elbows, sleeves are permitted. A simple lockout is required.

The Tire Flip for reps (if the weather does not cooperate and we have to do the entire comp inside, then the tire flip for reps will be used)
The weight of the tire is 980lbs and is approximately 5 1/2' tall. If you can pull 5 plates then you can flip this tire. Mind you, this tire will not let you do it easily hehe. Suits, sleeves, belts, briefs, wraps and chalk are allowed. Not tacky.

Progressive Farmer's Walk:
250lb cylinders 80' (mid shin pick up)
275-280lb plate loaded tanks 60' (close to knee level pick up)
310lb cylinders (w/ 1 1/2 smooth handles) low pick up 40'.

Only chalk, sleeves, suits, briefs, and wraps are allowed no tacky.


Max Deadlift: Standard Deadlift Bar. 2 athletes at a time (facing eachother):
Opening weight: 455lbs

Farmer's for 50', load a couple of kegs (220,280 and 300)

Hopefully the weather will be nice 'cause I'd love to have the
Husafell stone carry (300-350lbs) for max distance.

Hey Bud,
Here is the last word on the events.
Weather rain or shine, the medley (odd objects) and farmer's walk will take place outside.

The five events for the day are: (in this order)

1. Progressive farmer's walk - 250 for 40', 280 for 40', 300 for 40' (best time or distance wins)
2. Held indoors - Progressive log - 220 (8" log), 245(10" log), 270 (10" log), 295 (12" log) (best time for all 4 logs or most logs wins)
3. 300lb keg carry for max distance (self explanatory, furthest distance wins)
4. Held indoors - Head to head max deadlift - opening weight of 455. Hitching, straps, suits, briefs, allowed however no wearing two suits or doubling up on equipment. All you need to do is lockout the weight. You don't have to start at 455, that will just be the opener. 3 attempts.
5. Loading medley - probably something like 3 kegs and POSSIBLY two stones on to the back of a trailer (not high, maybe 30" or so). If we do end up using the stones, then tacky WILL be allowed.
If the weather is too dangerous for the keg carry, then the tire flip for reps will replace it and take place indoors. The tire (if used) will weigh 980lbs. It's a %*#+%.

Prizes (pretty certain will be this)
1st - $1000 cash, a trophy and a cool gift set from go mango fitness equiment.
2nd - $500 cash, a trophy and a cool gift set from go mango fitness equiment
3rd - $300 cash, a trophy and a cool gift set from go mango fitness equiment

All athletes will have a competition t-shirt, a box od chalk and possibly some more goodies upon competition day.
