Scott ..
i disagree with your idea of having one person decide the events for westerns.. This really subjects them to potential cries of favoritism. I think the method that MATT used for the 105 KG nats in 2008 was good and fair.. he presented a list of 20 events ( based on available equipment) to 4 officials : in this case himself, NAS president Dione Wessels, Grant Buhr and Grant Connors... each person then picked their favourite 10 the list was streamlined to 10 based on the choices - then the panel was asked to rank teh remaining 10 events 1 thru 10 and the top 6 "vote getting" events were chosen..
this is something to be considered and I will gladly offer my help for it ...

Jamie.......did you not choose the events for Westerns in 08??? I don't recall anyone else having any input.
Correct Nathan and if you recall there was some grumbling because of it(Even though there hadn't been any the year before). That's why I came up with the events for 105 CSM the way Jamie decribed. And in the future if Jamie and/or I promote any kind of championship this is the way we are going to pick the events. Its just a suggestion BEFORE hand, an idea that perhaps we could adopt in the West. Brent can choose to use this idea or he can pick whatever he wants as events and you won't hear any complaining from Vancouver Island I gaurantee it!
