Ok....so, just to make sure everyone is clear, the comp will be at the farm. Alot of you have been there before, but if you have not, i can post clearer
direction in here.
I will wait until closer to the weekend, as some of the roads are flooded between Winnipeg/Altona/Grand Forks. And these conditions should improve by the weekend. For all the people coming from Winnipeg, maybe there is a chance you could drive together??? Especially for the new people. I will have my cell phone with me that morning in case you need to call for directions. I would suggest coming ahead of time, since you may be forced to take some detours. Tyler will be the ref. If it rains we will be inside the barn..a little cramped but we will make do. Also, if anyone has energy after the comp and wants to play with some of the other toys..we can do that. Fingal fingers, car role...etc.... |

The 3 of us coming from Fargo haven't been there before, so could you post directions to "the farm"? or an address? I wonder if my GPS will guide me there... Thanks Brent!Kelly |

Its very easy for you guys. If the roads are all open...
Head North on the i-29 for about 150 miles. You will get to customs. Continue north on the highway (it will now become the highway #75) for 5 miles. Turn left (west) onto Highway #421. Travel 9 miles west, then turn right (North) into a village called New Bergthal. The farm will be on your right side. It's the first yard that has a 'lived in' house. Google maps finds it like this Fargo ND to New Bercthal MB. Customs is funny. Sometimes people come here with no problems. Other times there is a delay as they search you. Best if you have passports, but if not, make sure you have some picture ID or something. Leave guns, bombs, drugs, porn etc at home, are you might be delayed longer. |

Since #75 is closed at Morris due to flood waters, we all have to take alternate routes. There are 3 routes, but I will only list 2 here. The 3rd is gravel
roads, and may have some water. I have tried both of these in the past week, and unless something drastic has occured, they should both still be open. If you
have any concerns, there are two numbers you can call about flood information. The Morris flood number is 204-746-7325. The Winnipeg flood number is
204-945-2354. Both should be able to give you highway information.
Route 1 - Better highways, more truck stops/gas stations - takes an extra 15 minutes. From Winnipeg, if you were going out Pembina Highway, you go to the south perimeter, and head west (right). There is a turn off to #3. Turn south (left). You go past Carmen, until you get to #14. At #14 you turn east (left). Take #14 to #30. At #30 you turn south (right). You take #30 past Altona to #421. At #421 you turn East(left). You go until you see Neubergthal. It is really only one road. Head in going north (left). Third driveway on the right and you are there. This is my preferred way. Route 2 - Part asphalt highways/bad conditions, less gas stations - slightly faster. From Winnipeg, you go out Lagimodiere heading south. Lag turns into 59. You go out 59 to 23. You turn west (right) on 23 at La Rochelle. Go to 200 and turn south (left). You go down 200 (bad road) until you hit a turn off that gives you the option of turning down 200 or 201. Even though 200 appears to be the wrong direction, keep going on 200. 201 is flooded. 200 takes you through Emerson. Emerson comes out on 75. Head north (right) on 75 for 5 miles to the 421. You then go west (left) on 421. Go 421 for 13 miles, and you will find Neubergthal. Go north (right) into the village. Its the 3rd driveway on your right. For route 2, it is slightly trickier. If you go right on 201, you will hit water. Also when you get into Emerson, it isn't clear how to get through town to the 75. You make any mistake and you lose your 15 minute benefit. Between that and the poor asphalt roads, you are better off going route 1. See you tomorrow, and good luck.
