Brad Provick 2. Mike Peyson 3. Quinton Falk 4. John Crocker 5. Nathan Tymynski 6. Lucas Tetreault 7. Alex Mardell 8. Eric Sawatzky Hopefully the rain stays away and we can have a good show.

Nathan Tymynski - 14 7. Lucas Tetrault - 7 Awesome weather and a good show. Thanks to all the guys who showed up and gave 100% all day. Helpers did a great job. Notes: 1) Drag of yoke was CRAZY HARD. When I tested it went fairly well but not today. It would not slide and was just like a hard row each time. Sorry Guys 2) Was having a lot of trouble adjusting Yoke height. Would not slide up and down. One of the loaders got a chipped tooth when he got drilled in the face by the yoke. Sorry again. 3) DL and DB were the two best events. 4) Alex and Brad were tied heading into last event and it made for an exciting finish. Alex was totally gassed and ended up dropping the tire on his leg but was alright. Bus completed the course and won this 3rd event of the day. Hopefully the show will be back next year.

Posts: 238 (06/27/10 16:52:06) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Write up from the show... First off, Thanks a bunch to Al for the invite!! and for putting on a really great show! The contest was over in 2.5 hrs i believe. And thanks to all the helpers for making it run so fast....almost to fast haha Circus Dumbell 120lb C+P just like the Arnolds I was the 4th one to go, the number to beat was 15 reps. there was a 2 way tie for second at 13 reps. I started and just didnt keep track i just went till i heard the whistle. I had one rep that i didnt wait for a down command on. so i didnt get the rep. Turns out when the i was done i was credited for 12 reps. Had i had that 13th rep i would have been in a 3 way tie for second. DANG!! 3rd place and a 5 rep PR in the event! Farmers sand bag medley 265 farmers for 80 feet, followed by 230lb sandbag for 80 feet. I finished with 38.19 sec. I had a slow farmers, first time ever using 02 tanks. very difficult. but had a pretty fast sandbag. 4th place Deadlift 495lb DL for reps, no suits, no straps. I went with just a rehband belt and hook grip. Walking up to the bar i was telling myself 1 rep and thats it. I pulled my first rep witch was very easy. so i went for the 2nd rep, with a slight hitch and it felt good. So i went balls out for the 3rd rep, got it to my knees and went Derek Poundstone on it and got the rep lol. 6th place, 3 reps. and a 2 rep PR on the event. Not bad!! Yoke 730lb yoke for 50 feet, then drag back. Going in i knew i would have a fast yoke, witch i think i had the fastest time for the 50 feet. But when i put it down i put it down 2 feet past the line and had to start pulling from there. All i will say is this was stupid how hard it was to drag!! I ended up pulling it 7 feet 1 inch. Good enough for 3rd in the event! Tire Flip 750lb Tire for 80 feet. I was 1 of 2 guys to finish the course. and i finished with a time of 1 min 22 seconds. 2nd place Thanks to Al and Heather for letting me stay the weekend, Much appreciated!! Competitor comments Brad, 1st time competing against him. Could tell he was being cautions seeing as westerns are next weekend. Hope i get to compete with him again one day! Great yoke, and tire!! Alex, Never heard of the guy. But stupid strong! easy to see why he is one of the best Powerlifters in the country! Quinton, Insanely strong!! crazy intensity, put 110% in every event John, Second time competing agaist John. Really strong DL for being only 200lbs Nathan, Cool guy, 8 reps on the DL was impressive! Lucas, great yoke for a first time competitor! As for me, i made a few mistakes that cost me some points. Like had i waited for a down command on the D-Bell i would have been in a 3 way tie for 2nd. Happy with my 2 rep PR on the DL, even though they looked horrible. Was happy with everything else considering i have not touched a implement since March. Now time to decide weather or not to do the ex in August! Eric

Everything went smooth, exept the yoke, must have been harder because the street was swept very well. We all know Alex is stupid strong in the powerlifts, but he impressed with some decent implement skills and cardio.. Hopefully continues to dabbles in the sport... it should come easy for him. Quinton really seemed to lay it all on the line, despite us discussing holding back a bit for Westerns next week... sorry about the gamesmanship by only pulling 5 reps dude, but I've been training for westerns for 4 months and wasn't going to blow a testicle on this event! See you next week brother. Eric had the best set of implement skillz that I saw that day. Looked barely out of practice... just a raw boned strongman build.. hopefully he finds a positive training environment. John pulled and pressed great.. too bad about the farmers his old nemesis.... you're gonna crush those babys someday... maybe when you get around to training with them! Nathan is one of our new guys coming out of team vag... really taking to it like a duck to water... 8X495 is like a 6 rep PR for him. Needs to start more regular implement training now. His days of coming out to "help out" are over... Lucas! Stepped up with almost zero implement experience and a back problem. Great guts in this kid... hopefully he joins the team and gets his hands on some of the equipment. Now we storm the beach next week in Stoon................. bUs ...
